Yellow Card Reporting

If you experience any side effects from a medicine, you can report them through the Yellow Card Reporting Scheme. This scheme is managed by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the organisation responsible for monitoring the safety of medicines, including vaccines, medical devices, blood products and e-cigarettes in the United Kingdom.

Reporting through the Yellow Card Scheme helps the MHRA gather important information about possible safety concerns, including medicine side effects.

Because everyone’s genetic makeup is unique, it can be difficult to predict how an individual might respond to a medicine. Side effects can occur even when a medication is used exactly as prescribed, and even if you have taken the same medicine before without any problems.

Your experience could provide valuable insight. By reporting any side effects you notice, you are helping to improve the understanding of medicines and contributing to safer care for others.

If you feel able to, we encourage you to report any side effects through the Yellow Card Scheme. Your voice matters, and your report could help someone else in the future.

Please also remember to inform your dentist at your next appointment if you have experienced any side effects.
