Sedation at The Campbell Clinic

What is dental sedation?

Dental sedation uses medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. If you are sedated for your treatment, you will feel less anxious and you won’t feel pain or discomfort. You will be able to hear and respond to your dentist, as you will not be unconscious, but you may not remember events from your treatment. Dental sedation is a safe option when performed by trained and experienced clinicians.

About our sedation service

  • The Campbell Clinic has been carrying out dental treatment under sedation for over 10 years.
  • Sedation is carried out by qualified clinicians each with more than 15 years of experience.
  • The sedation service is overseen by a clinician with a Diploma in Conscious Sedation.
  • We carry out conscious sedation using intravenous midazolam which reduces anxiety and is very safe.
  • Please note: This is not recommended for pregnant patients or those under the age of 16. All patients will undergo a full assessment of their individual needs at a consultation appointment to ensure they are suitable for sedation.
