What are the alternatives when taking impressions?

So, one of the options that we do have here is we've got an intraoral scanner, so that's a little magic wand effectively that we can take lots of pictures of the patient's mouth with instead of using the conventional impression material.

This has the benefit that if you do have a gag reflex, it's not going to make you feel unwell or make you gag, and it's a lot more comfortable for our patients. We feel that the number of patients that come in who have never had digital impressions, really, really enjoy it.

And we've managed to overcome a fear of coming to the dentist or needing treatment where they've usually had to have the conventional impressions taken.
