Repricing Dental Implant Treatment – Why?

One of the most well-established principles in business is the utilisation of price to limit overwhelming demand and this has been clear during and after the pandemic for companies that became overwhelmed.

I first saw this demonstrated in a BBC One programme called ‘Troubleshooter’ many years ago with Sir John Harvey-Jones.

He went to the car company ‘Morgan’ who had a three-year waiting list and they were complaining that their waiting list was killing them. He suggested that they increased their prices to cut their waiting list and when the light box came on it was clear that’s what they did.

When I entered the bungalow on Loughborough Road in 2008, I expected I’d be very quiet, and an implant service would not be successful as I’d moved from previous practices. During the coming 2 or 3 years I was astonished at the overwhelming demand that we had but it was only me providing the treatment and I had to limit the amount of patients to ensure that I didn’t lose the quality.

At that stage we were able to increase our prices in order to reduce the number of patients attending to try to maintain the customer service and patient service level that we wished to achieve.

I always intended though, to be able to provide a service across multiple payment points to make it as accessible as possible for the patients which sits well with my ethical outlook on life.

It was only in building the new clinic that we were able to open this out to what we now call Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3 treatment options.

What we hoped we have built is the ability for people to access care at the brand-new Campbell Clinic facility at a treatment and payment level that they feel is acceptable to them.

If you need any further information about this then please contact on of our Treatment Coordinators and we’ll be happy to arrange an appointment for you to speak to someone about the pricing structure at length to ensure that you can fully understand your options.
