Hello there, my name is Nish Yadev and I’m one of the dentists here at The Campbell Clinic in Nottingham. 

Where did you study and what qualifications do you have?

I studied at the university of Sheffield. I started as a postgraduate student in 2010 and I qualified in 2015.

Why did you choose a career in dentistry?

So, dentistry for me was a bit of a career change and before I studied dentistry, I had done a doctorate and a further education in microbiology and then I decided I wanted a change in my career. I’d investigated a different number of pathways and having had some really good mentors at the time I did some work experience in dentistry and fell in love with the subject and as a result I decided to study it as a postgraduate degree.

What are your main interests in dentistry?

Here at The Campbell Clinic, I'm a general dentist however I do have a special interest in restorative dentistry. I’m quite keen in working with an individual's own smile and dentition, being able to restore function as well as aesthetics. I'm also quite keen in minimally invasive dentistry as well so, that means preserving as much tooth as possible and being able to keep that tooth as long as possible before any further intervention is required. I'm quite keen on adhesive dentistry as well which involves using modern techniques, using modern materials in order to be able to re-establish someone's smile as well as function.

What do you enjoy about being a dentist?

One of the things I enjoy about being a dentist, especially working here at The Campbell Clinic, is spending time with the patient and being able to use the technology that we have here in order to be able to provide the patient with the smile or the treatment that they require to extremely high standards and being able to do it well.

What do you like to do outside of dentistry?

Outside of dentistry I enjoy cycling, keeping active, lots of walking and just being outdoors really and I’m also quite keen on photography and I’m quite a passionate cook so I like to do most of the cooking around the household but please don't tell my wife.
