Andrew Legg - Dentist at The Campbell Clinic in Nottingham

Here at The Campbell Clinic there are many clinicians and staff members you can meet, here you can get to know a little bit about one of our clinicians, Andrew Legg.

Hi, my name is Andy Legg, and I am one of the dentists here at The Campbell Clinic in Nottingham and I perform both Implant Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry.

Why did you first get into dentistry?

I chose a career in dentistry because when I was 14, I was playing rugby and unfortunately got my front two teeth knocked out/ smashed and I was extremely impressed with how they were able to fix them, as I did question whether I would have to have false teeth. The accident came at a time when I was choosing my options for my GCSE’s and this definitely influenced my subject choices.

Where did you study?

I studied at Manchester University between 1996 and 2001 to gain my dental degree and then following this I did postgraduate qualifications at the University of Sheffield in Dental Implantology. I have also acquired my membership of the faculty of Dental Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

What are your main interests in Dentistry?

My main interests in dentistry are Implant Dentistry first and foremost but within Implant Dentistry I have an interest in Immediate Full Arch Reconstruction, which is where we remove and replace teeth in the same day.

What do you enjoy about being a dentist?

The thing I enjoy about being a dentist is twofold, I enjoy working with lots of different people every single day and I enjoy the challenges that presents but I also enjoy providing life-changing treatments and seeing the end results of that and how it changes a patient’s quality of life.

What are your hobbies outside of dentistry?

Outside of dentistry my interests are mainly in sport, I used to play rugby until I got injured and I now follow my children’s sport which includes rugby, hockey, cricket and football but I also like to listen to a lot of music.
