Angela Cowell - Dentist in Nottingham at The Campbell Clinic

Here at The Campbell Clinic there are many clinicians and staff members you can meet, here you can get to know a little bit about one of our clinicians, Angela Cowell.

Hello my name is Angela Cowell and I am one of the dentists here at The Campbell Clinic.

Why did you first get into dentistry?

I first got into dentistry because I always enjoyed going to the dentist as a child, despite needing braces. I always liked how clean everything was. I really wanted to work in healthcare on a practical basis and that’s why I chose dentistry as a career.

Where did you study?

I’ve been a dentist for 18 years now, I graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and two years later achieved my membership at the Royal College of Surgeons. I’ve always sort to improve my skills and my learning as much as possible. I’ve worked in the hospital service in oral surgery, seeing patients with facial trauma, oral cancer and removing difficult teeth. I’ve also worked in general practice undertaking routine dentistry and that’s been nice to see patients for many years but I also place and restore implants. My training for that has taken me as far away as Germany and I’ve also been trained by The Campbell Academy, and last year I achieved my diploma in sedation.

What are your main interests in Dentistry?

My main interest in dentistry are oral surgery and dental implants, I particularly like using all the state-of-the-art technology which we have here at The Campbell Clinic.

What do you enjoy about being a dentist?

I enjoy seeing patients and being able to put them at ease, make them confident in their treatment. I like solving the problems that they have and giving them the smile that they want. I also really enjoy working with the amazing team of people that we have here at The Campbell Clinic because everyone contributes to the patient care.

What are your hobbies outside of dentistry?

Outside of dentistry I like getting outside in the open air, with waterproofs on if needed. I like running and hiking, and at home I enjoy baking as well, although probably not on the scale of the Great British Bake Off.
