Is Orthodontic treatment a permanent fix?

I’d like to think that we will try and get your teeth into a stable long-term position however all patients must understand the importance of retainers to prevent relapse.

Relapse is where the teeth can move back to where they came from and so in the first year, we're really strict and we want to make sure that you're wearing the retainers as prescribed.

After that first-year post-treatment you still need to wear some type of retention and you need to think of that as a long-term insurance policy to prevent your teeth moving.
